Wellington

This inner city office comprised of two parts.

The paint system in the offices were in reasonable condition but the apricot colour scheme was very outdated and tired. It was time for an updated colour scheme and a freshen up. Whilst the walls, skirtings and scotia were straightforward there were intricate ceilings in two rooms and beams through every other office and the hallway. Many of the windows were of a double-hung colonial style and all the doors were pannelled or of a glass colonial style.

The office was fully functional while we were working with the staff moving from one end of the office building to the other during the period of the contract. We did our best to avoid disruption as much as possible.

The three storey stairwell also had an outdated colour scheme and comprised intricate railings, posts and panelling. A very large colonial window added to the difficulty of the assignment - with the sun being an issue for a large part of the day.

The stairwell was partly painted over a weekend when scaffolding was required so it could be kept clear for other tenants during the working week. It was then completed over another weekend.

All the joinery had an old enamel paint system which was recoated in Resene Lustacryl - Triple Blanc.

The ceilings were painted in Resene Tintable Ceiling Flat - Quarter Rice Cake.

The walls were painted in Resene SpaceCote Flat - Carrara.
