We paint any time of year using quality products for a superior finish. Winter isn't a barrier with new generation winter-grade paints. If the environmental impact is a concern, talk to us to find out what the alternatives are - there are a wide range of Low VOC or VOC free paints to reduce the impact on the environment.

How much does it cost to get my house painted?

Obviously every house or building is different. Some of the things that might be taken into account when quoting on a paint job are the following:

• Does the house need scaffolding?
• What's the access like? (Especially relevent in Wellington)
• What's the condition of the existing paint system - ie. cracking, crocodiling, flaking, efflorescence, rust, tanin bleed.
• What is the current paint system - ie. old enamel, lead based, old acrylic over enamel etc.
• How badly compromised is the joinery or the weatherboards - ie. are they rotten and need replacing.
• What are the hinges or friction stays like? Do the double-hung windows work, are they nailed or painted in, have the sash cords broken - does the client want them fixed?
• Does the cladding or concrete block substrate need a waterproofing system?

Painters Inc. will give you a full specification and in most cases a fixed price quote. We are also happy to provide references from other happy clients who will attest to our workmanship and what it's like to have our team on site.

When comparing quotes from other companies make sure you ask the following questions:

• Will they supply references?
• Do they supply a full specification of work they intend to do?
• Do they have a Code of Conduct?
• Do they work as a team?
• Will the job be completed within a reasonable timeframe?
• Are they members of Master Painters?
